"From the Odyssey, Part One" Reader Responce

Actually I think this story is really fun. Although Odyssey and his men were stuck in the cave, but they still use many ways to solve it. I really like the way he makes the cyclops blind. When I saw the word "Nohbdy", the first word I thought is "Nobody", at first I thought he wants to scare the cyclop, but I finally know that actually he is preparing for his plan. When he use the big spike with hot temperature to stab into his eye and the cyclop tells other cyclop that "Nohbdy" did it, I finally know that he is using "Nobody" for let other cyclop to think the cyclop is been hurt by nobody. At last I actually don't know why Odyssey need to tell the cyclop that his real name, he actually can just escape,I think he might really wants to be a hero.

"American History" Reader Responce

I think at first it was really great that the author can make friend with Eugene, but it's not really good that they both are be tease commonly. During the day the president had been killed, everyone was really sad. I think the author was really rude because she didn't even felt any sad, she even felt very happy. This is also why her mom said she is lead of pain and humiliation. Actually she shouldn't go to Eugene's house on that sad day, they should meet when the president had been killed after few weeks or day. When the author arrived to Eugene's house. I felt Eugene's mom is really really rude. He is a visitor, why should the owner blame on the visitor that her kid don't need any friend. Is his mom really think that Eugene is really that smart that everyone don't need to help him. Actually Eugene's mom should think about her son, is her son really want the author to not study with him. I don't think so.When it was night, the author finally use the right attitude to think about president been killed's problem, it's good thing.

"Rising Tides" Reader Response

I think the author, Bob Herbert is really correct. We really need to start to save our earth. Herbert have said many example of effects of global warming. Ice melting, sea level rising, permafrost is also melting. The thing I felt most ridicules is the government still not responding to the problem. Government should be the people who announce to the citizens that we shouldn't destroy earth, but themselves were still don't know how to response the problem. They didn't even do their basic job, what are they doing? Actually, same as the citizens. Although the government aren't solving the problem seriously, the people should know that the global warming problem is also because of them,but people are continue ignore it and they even think it is not their problem. Anyhow, almost all the people include the government and even include the each country's president need to think about it.

What is Plagiarism? Examples

There is one time, when I was in the local school in seventh grade. While we are testing about the story, we need to memorize the poem inside the story and know how to write. Of course I know how to do it, but during the test I saw there is a student flip her book into the page that has the poem on it inside the drawer. She doesn't memorize it and look at the book and copy it. Then when we are almost finished, teacher also have saw she's cheating, and she shout on her and called her to go to the office, I think she had got a peccadillo for her action. It's very serious if we got a peccadillo in school.

There's another time, when we are testing the chemical formula in my local school in seventh grade. We have to memorize all the chemical formula to get high score. But there must be someone that forget or doesn't want to memorize the things on their test. While the class are testing, sometimes I will turn back to see how many time can I do it. One time, while I was looking at the time, suddenly I saw there is a classmate are looking down his drawer very often, I was guessing he is also cheating. I don't know he has cheat or not until now.

My Most Cherished Possession

I think I would save my computer if a fire, a flood, an earthquake had happen. Because you can use your computer to do anything, included rescue. After the disaster, if you still have your computer, you might can find where has internet, or also save the card for having internet everywhere. When you have a computer with Internet, then you can call someone or call the police. There are tons of people will be online when you need help. You also can buy food can drink when you are hungry. You might can sell the computer if you really doesn't have any money. So, if you have a computer with Internet, you might can still be alive about half month to a month. Actually any computer can, unless that computer can't save me for few weeks. I will choose this is because I think this item can save our live the most.

What is irony?

Irony is something you said or write is totally oppisite to what's really happen. People usually can know when you are writing ironic sentence while they know what's really happen. Sometimes Irony will let other people think it is hurting someone, and sometimes Irony will be very funny, here is a picture that represent irony.

The American Dream

My American dream is live in the countryside of New York, near to the city but not that noisy part. I would have a big house with two to three floors, everyday get up until I wake-up naturally. When I walk down stairs, my wife have already prepare the breakfast and we eat together with my wife and about two kids. These two kids are not really naughty, likes to their own business. When I am working in my company, my associates will treat me as their friend. Everytime I can do my own business very successfully and get back to my home early or on time. After I get home, I can eat dinner with my family. After the dinner, I might watch TV and relaxed for the rest of the hour. When it is holiday, I and my family might can go to the city to shopping, or we might go to an amusement park to have fun. I think in overall, my dream life in America is that I can have a relax, comfortable, and successful life. There will only have something bad in few days. Everyone can treat me as a friend, don't have any enemy or bullys.

Quick write- School Comparison

     PAS has many activity every month, but in local school there's only an activity every two month. In PAS, we can leave school more earlier, but local school would need to stay until almost 8 to 9 p.m.  In PAS, student can have more freedom to do what they want while the local school everything have to listen to the teacher. Most of the teacher in PAS are kind, but local school just have few teacher is kind, almost everyday taking test. This is the asvantages of going to PAS.
     There has some disadvantages of going to PAS. PAS can't speak Chinese while the local school student can speak Chinese when ever thay want. In PAS, the teacher will always force you to study for the SAT, while some of the local school won't force you to get good grade. PAS is very expensive if you want to study in here, but local school just only need about 10 thousand to study. Sometimes in PAS can't turn on the air conditioner, it control by the main office while local school can turn on their air conditioner when ever they want. In these day I found out that few of the teacher in PAS was very mean to student, always do something that makes their students hate them while the local student are really not that mean to students. (not talking about homework, is personality)

Sherlock Holmes

According to the book, I think that the pearl dealer have tried to kill Kino and his family. Because at first, when the pearl dealers want to use low prize to make Kino to give him the pearl, but they don't know that Kino will not want to sell, so they are starting to get the pearl physically. They first start to investigate where Kino lives. They might asked the doctor that where he lives. Then, they hired some of the men that has muscle and attacked Kino. The first attacked is not that hard. Then the second and third time become more and more serious. At last, they even burn their house and brake their house. They do this is because they know they will start to move to other place, they want Kino to move to the place where near them, and then they can get their pearl and killed Kino and their family by theirself. I think the author didn't want to write it to let the reader think the pearl dealer didn't do these. And they always hired other people that isn't important in the story to attacked Kino. In my opinion, because the author didn't write anything about the pearl dealer. Then, I think the people who didn't been writed in the last few chapter, the most possible become the killer it would be.

Even there was also some kind of fish also are decreasing, but some species of shark and tuna have already decrease 99 percent. Expert said the Asia fisherman will kill shark to sell to the restaurant to become shark fin soup and get money from them. So they have decided to set law of limited to catch tuna and other species. Elizabeth Griffin Wilson said the ICCAT should more care about other kinds of shark, or else they might become next fisherman's target. Environmentalists they were disappoint about the meeting in March, there are six kind of shark can't get the protection, but they were happy that the shark fin trade have decrease about 85 percent.

Vengeance

I think someone would want to revenge have many kinds of reason. If you have killed some body's family or who is important to him, and if he or she gets really angry and crazy. He or she will really wants to kill you. Maybe someone who wants to kill you will first fascinated you then take you to a place that you and almost everyone don't know, then he or she will start to torture you until you dead. Sometimes will do this to revenge someone. Or he or she might be very straight, he might kidnapped you and kill you in a sudden. But usually revenge someone to death will me defiantly be illegal, and they will be caught by police at last.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism is a action to copy thing from someone else. Plagiarism can do it almost in everywhere. The people who most common did it is teenagers, or children at school. Sometimes the students didn't have time to finish the homework, but they still wants to let teacher to think he or she is a good student, the students will ask for the other people's homework to plagiarize to be their own, but actually if this action have been caught by teachers, the person who plagiarize and the person who lend homework to other to plagiarize will be get into a big trouble. Another example, when teacher assigned a group project. Some of the people what to be lazy, so they will use what somebody wrote on the Internet and plagiarize it on their project. Also if this have been caught, the group that plagiarize from the Internet will get into a big trouble.  

Why People Write Diaries?

I think the reason of why people write in a diary is because they want to remember what have they done or something interesting that happen. The only person I remember that was famous in diary is Anne Frank. She have written almost two to three years diary. Her diary also have become books to sale in the world. The reader will wants to read other person's diary is because other people can know what kind of life does he or she has. They also can know what does he or she have done before, or what interesting thing did he or she faced before.

"The Pearl" Ch5 Reader's Response

I think the author is starting to tell what is bad to have the pearl. Kino have hit Juana because of the pearl. Kino have a fight with other people because of the pearl. The reason of why Kino kills a person is because the pearl. Also their boat have a big hole is because of pearl, and even the house had been burned is also because of the pearl. If they didn't have that pearl, they might still have a peaceful life. Their house might not been burned, and they don't need to live at other people's house. But even all these terrible things have happened, Kino still wants to escape to other city with pearl and not want to give up. I think the next chapter will happen other terrible things if Kino continue to have that pearl. Actually I think we can said Kino's family is not capacity to have that pearl.

Self-Reflection on Term 1

If I can be more consentrate, I think I can be more success. Every time when I was studying or having a test, I always will want to do something else, and when I have a test, I always think check is really not important. Then after the test, I will find out some question is easy but still missed. I like to use computer during the class, because I can feel exciting when I can use computer in the classroom. The course material that I don't like is "The Pearl" Sheet, and the "Elements of Language"'s reading part, because it is really hard when I'm doing or reading these. The reading in "Elements of Language" usually has many hard word. When it appears, I has to find it in the dictionary. I felt is wasting time to check it  I think my favorite activity is using play games to test our vocabulary, because suppose we should need to write some exam to test it, but play games can make us have less pressure, and everyone will be happy and relax. I would like to see everyone is happy in this class.

Cause-and-Effect Essay (Effects if studying hard for a test)

If you study hard for a test. You often can pass the test, because you have already study for it, the information you must know already fill into your brain. When it's on the test, you can know what needs to fill in during the test. But sometimes even you study hard, you still can't pass. The reason might be that your prepearing for the wrong test, or it's because the teacher really makes it too hard. If you really accept the second reason, then it means that you are not really study that hard. A person who study hard is not suppose to say this, or else the teacher have test over range. Unless you're the unlucky one, mostly if you study hard for the test, you can get a high score on it.

How is a pencil made?

Almost all the students have pencils in their pencil box, but do you know how it is made? First, cut the wood into rectangular shapes, and then cut into smaller rectangular shape. Next, the wood needs to be put on something like wax to protect our hand to not been hurt. After this, the wood will cut a long half hole to put the leads. When the leads is on the wood, the other half of the wood can start combine it together to make it become a no color and eraser's pencil. The pencil is already half way done. The pencil is still a rectangular shape, so the machine will cut it into hexagonal prism. It is impossible that the machine only do one pencil in once, so bunch of the pencils are still stick together. The next process is need to cut it individual. Actually this is done. The company might put on some color or their logo. On the other side of the pencil will put a ferrule enable to put the eraser. That is the whole process to make a pencil.

Explain briefly how to do your favorite activity

I think my favorite activities are playing computer games and watching television. How do I play computer games? First, I will sit infront of the computer and turn on the computer, then I sign in to Facebook, next I click on the games. Last, I start to play my computer games. Sometimes I will have to ask my friend to help me. The first I will do if I want to watch television program is sit infront of the television, next I will turn it on. Then I start to watch it. If I don't like what the program is showing now, I will change to other channel to check wheather there is any interest channels are showing now. Doing these can make me get not that boring, it also can kill some time. I feel everytime doing these thing is very interesting.

A gift

I think cheated can be a kind of gift I had received before. Cheat on a test is a terrible action, but because of cheating, my mom and teacher had started to cares about me. Before the first time I cheated. My mother always just checked I have finish my homework or not, and she let me do what everything that I want. After she caught I cheat, although she still have punished me, but she started to care about my test grade and also brought some book for me to practice for each subject. Same as the teacher, before I cheated the teacher just treat me as a student as others. After I have cheatd, I felt that he started to want to chat with me, and because we had chat many time, I felt the teacher have treat me better. I might need to thank myself that I had cheat to made others more care about me.

"The Pearl" Ch4 Reader's Response

This time I think is not these dealer's mistake, it was Kino's wrong. Even the dealers think the pearl was not worthless, but the dealers have give a thousand pesos. Actually this have already made the neighbors think its a large amount of money, but  Kino still rejected the price and said the pearl should sell more than thousand pesos. He was starting to be greedy, wants more and more money to live. If the dealers give him ten thousand pesos, he might also rejected it because the price is too low. When he planing to go to the capital, the neighbor had also warned him that the capital is very dangerous, because of his greedy, he didn't listen to the neighbor's suggest. I think Kino will really dead because of this pearl. We actually can see that at the end of chapter 4, at night Kino had been hurt by someone again, and this time even more terrible. I might died at the next day night which killed by the strangers.

Put your self in Kino's shoes How would you react when the doctor came to your door after you found the pearl?

If I was Kino, I would felt this person is materialistic. At first the doctor didn't want to help the baby when Kino didn't have money, but now after Kino had found the pearl, doctor just came to our house and act like very care about Coyotito's wound. I would let the doctor get in to save the baby. But I would tell him how did he treat us before when we found pearl, and I would ask him to apologize to us maybe on TV or other public places. I might also tell the doctor lower the price of the medicine to prove that if he really felt sorry.

"The Pearl" Ch3 Reader's Response

I felt those people are very realistic. When Kino found the pearl's new just spread out, almost all the people starts to treated them well. It was obvious that they are doing it to get money from Juan and Kino after the pearl has been sold. Mostly is that doctor, after he knew he has a pearl, he just went to care Coyotito. Gave him medicine, and came look him after anothe hour. At first, he didn't let Kino find him and ignored Coyotito's wound. After this, he just changed to another person. Although the pearl can bring Kino hope and future, but it also will bring more dangerous in their life, there might have many people want to steal your money. Like the on the last part of the chapter 3, when Kino felt someone is inside his house, and he found that there is a persom wants to steal the pearl. And because of the pearl, he had been hurt between the fight. If I was Kino, I will not want to get that big's pearl. I rather gets a middle one that can make our life become better,and not been hurt by other strangers.

I Wish That I Could...

I wish that I could get a high score in this year, and get out of the ESL. Now when I see my calssmates in mainstream are chatting, I always can't join with them, because we have only just a few class is same. If I can put more effort in this year, I might can get out if the ESL, continue stay with some old students, and chatting with them. Actually now some of the students that is in mainstream sometimes will laugh at us. So I wish that I could get a high score in this year, and get out of the ESL.

How can playing games teach you about life

I think that games can affect some body's thinking. Sometimes games will have something such as killing people, but I think it might can let the kids know that we need to be good person, or else it will be similar like the games. And actually now there have many website is having many games that can teach people things, such as some games need to answered some question to go to the next level, this can make some kids play game and also know some new imformation, and this is also great for some students that can't accept for just a teacher speaking all the time. They might can use games to learned it. It's very useful.

The Fight Between Cockroaches And Me

        I think everyone would at least have one animal that is been afraid of. Like me, I think I have afraid of lots of living thing, but the most animal that I afraid are cockroaches. Almost every time when I saw a cockroach, I’ll leave that place five to ten meters away, until someone has killed it or the cockroach leave. But this time I think is my bravest thing I have ever done. I have used the sprayer to kill a cockroach. This action has solved the problem that I afraid of cockroach.

        I remember that night is when I was seventh grade, when I’m watching television. It is the middle of the program, suddenly my eyes have saw something that is brown and black, then the next second I knew that is a cockroach. Of course, and the next second I used the fastest speed that I have to run as far as I can. At first, I thought that I will not saw that cockroach in the other ten minutes, but really unluckily, it was still over there. Then I thought this is not a way to get out off the cockroach, and furthermore, I had already miss ten minutes of TV program, so I started to walk back to the room. Using small steps so that cockroach will not move. When I walked back to the room, I started to find something that can kill it, and then I saw a sprayer that kills the insect. So I used my small steps again to go get the sprayer, then I started to go near to the cockroach, and I sprayed to the cockroach for the first time, it failed. The cockroach starteed to ran to other place, and I’ve got more nervous because it runs so fast that I can’t even stay away from it. So I started to spray in everywhere, if I saw like a cockroach, I will spray over there. At last, the cockroach had died, but the room was messy, and it had a terrible smell in this room.

        Although I had been yelled by my parents, I had still learned something about it. During this experience, I’ve learned about actually cockroach was not that scary, it still didn’t move if I walk more carefully. Also, I have learned that don’t give up, if I gave up after cockroach start to run, I might still afraid to killed a cockroach. And last, I have learned that next time killed a cockroach don’t need to be that crazy, actually I had heard many people said just need to spray like soap water then it will died, or else I might be yelled at next time when I kill a cockroach.

"The Pearl" Ch1&2 Reader's Response

When they were waking up in the morning, I felt Kino isn't very care and love this family. Kino and Juana didn't have eat together, and the baby, Coyotito was only been take care by Juana, it seems like Kino didn't care about the baby. But after I finished another few lines. I knew that Kino and Juana were care about the little baby, especially Juana, because when Coyotito was going to be hurt by the scorpion, both of them were very carefully wanted to remove the scorpion, also when Coyotito had been hurt by it, Juana have shouted to the neighbor that call the doctor to here. When the family and their neighbor arrived to the city, I can felt that it's a lot of difference between where they lived and the people live in city, and also the doctor's house,too. Most of the people lived in city are rich, their house had pool and many birds are singing, but the poor people only could live in the house made by brush. I really felt angry to that doctor. That doctor didn't want to help the baby just because the family didn't have money. I think the doctor should help all the people even they didn't have money. When they were in the sea to find some small pearl, I think Juana was wishing that they can find some pearl, or else her baby might died. Because she had wish very strongly, and both of them were very lucky, they had found a pearl that is big as a seagull's egg.

"The Pearl" Ch1&2 Summary

At first, they had woke up from the morning near the beach, they ate breakfast, but then Coyotito had been hurt by a scorpion. Juana told the neighbor to call the doctor to come, but he won't, so Kino, Juana, Coyotito, and all the neighbors went to the city to find the doctor. When they arrived in front of the doctor's house, they have saw the doctor's house was like where rich people lives. They have asked the doctor to save Coyotito but because they didn't have money, he didn't want to help the baby. And because they didn't have money, they and other people started to sit on the canoe and going to caught some oyster and find some little pearl. And very lucky, when they took the basket up, they can't believe what they saw. There was a pearl that is big as a seagull's egg, as perfect as the moon.
